My Certifications, Values, and Ethics

As interest in Human Design and the self-awareness space continues to grow and expand, it’s important I hold to my personal value of being transparent. If you are considering spending time with me to discuss deeply personal aspects of your life, dreams, and goals, I believe in return, I should give you the opportunity to see if my viewpoint(s) even resonates with you.

Human Design Certifications

All of my coursework to-date has been completed through the International School of Human Design, the primary governing body of this field, though I have used books, lectures, videos, and writings from an incalculable number of teachers businesses, and institutions.

I am not a certified Human Design reader nor do I intend to pursue certification from any person or institution. In my exploration, it seems each body prefers to lock you into a specific lexicon and/or method of practice. I prefer to remain open, adapting my understanding in line with my experiences.

My Personal Values

What comes next might seem like a strange place to start, but it is the most contextual thing I can share about who I am. I grew up in a conservative evangelical Christian household and attended Wheaton College, the”Harvard” of Christian colleges. While it was often a positive experience for me, looking back, my deconversion process began in 2011. It took years of reflection, intentional exposure to new ways of thinking, and therapy to truly unravel my experience in what I now know was a heavily emotional and dogmatic religious framework. Well over a decade has passed since I stepped away from Christianity, and the journey has deeply shaped my perspective and approach to life.

Having personally experienced the repercussions of rigid ideology, I am committed to staying attuned to where I might unconsciously create structures that are too rigid or limiting. It’s become increasingly important to me to embrace nuance and lean into the discomfort of situations that resist fitting neatly into categories or systems. Interestingly, this mirrors a significant aspect of my Human Design. Working with this awareness has brought me both direction and a sense of calm in my inner life.

While I strive for clarity and balance in my work, my background serves as a constant reminder to check in with myself, ensuring that what I create allows room for growth, adaptability, and the richness of perspectives that don’t always fit within predefined boundaries and this includes Human Design! While I rely primarily on Human Design, I do incorporate other systems and welcome you to do the same. You will absolutely hear me say something about your design that does not sound true to you, and that is fine (see below for more on this!). There are so many tools and modalities to support your journey toward self-understanding and fulfillment and you should use them all. Understanding your own intuition and resonance is the one thing you should never give up on.

Value Statements I Work With

Here are some things you will likely me hear say to you in one form or another:

  • Being yourself is the greatest gift you can give to yourself, your children, your partner, and your world.

  • You are your own authority. Do not surrender your decision-making power to anyone else.

  • You can only change yourself.

  • If something doesn’t make sense or resonate, give yourself permission to let it go. It’ll come back if it needs to!

My Ethical Commitments

  • Medical Advice: I do not provide medical advice of any kind.

  • Integration of Tools: I personally see a therapist and have used Lexapro. These resources, along with others, have been invaluable to my life. I respect the input of mental health professionals and believe Human Design is a fantastic tool— but not the only tool.

  • Privacy: I will never share your Human Design chart or personal information in blogs, social media, discussion groups, or any public forum without your explicit consent. If I wish to reference your chart for any reason, I will explain what I would like to share when I seek your permission. A “no” will be immediately accepted!

  • Confidentiality: I will not disclose any identifying information about you to others without your consent (e.g., This really pertains if I am also working with your partner or a close friend).

  • Non-Coercive Practices: I commit to maintaining a non-coercive environment in all interactions. My role is to guide and support, not to convince or influence you to adopt any particular belief or practice.

  • Transparency: I will be transparent about my Human Design training and limitations. If there is an area beyond my expertise, I will communicate this openly and, when possible, refer you to additional resources.

  • Cultural Sensitivity: I acknowledge that Human Design, like many systems, may intersect with cultural beliefs and backgrounds. I am committed to respecting these nuances. You should feel free to bring up and correct me any time you feel I have made an incorrect or uneducated assumption. I will listen with respect and open ears.
